It is with great joy that, on behalf of the newly elected Society Leader Andrei Paz, his Vicar Peter O’Neill, the GA 2024 Steering Committee, the ex-officio and delegate members of the GA, including the outgoing and incoming CLMCLT, the General Assembly 2024, after separate processes of discernment, prayer and “Conversations in the Spirit”, have elected Young In Kim Gregorio (ordained in 2011, presently the Rector of the Korean Formation Program) to the role of Second Councillor and Salustino Villalobos Mondragon (ordained in 2017, presently assigned to the Taiwan Mission Unit) to the role of Third Councillor for a period of 6 years.
In his words of acknowledgement to the Assembly, Young In thanked all those present for their support for him. He had earlier likened his feeling to that Jesus in the garden when he prayed: “Father, take this cup from me, but if I must drink it, your will be done”. Young In said that he is a “simple man”, and is humbled by this great trust of the Society in him.
In acknowledging his election, Salustino thanked everyone in the room all ; he realises it is a big task in front of them, and he counts on the Society’s full support for the new team.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus, whose Feast day we today celebrate guide and strengthen you both, Young In and Salustino as you embark on this new chapter in your lives as Columbans,
